This week’s Northeast News Faces spotlight is none other than Tom Stivers, the prescription delivery specialist for long-time Historic Northeast business Spalitto’s Pharmacy.
Tom is a life-long Northeast resident who recently made the move to the Scarritt neighborhood from the Lykins community, but like Tom says, “Still in Northeast, can’t go bad!”
Tom covers more ground on a weekly basis delivering prescriptions for Spalitto’s, averaging 40-50 deliveries on a daily basis, all over the city’s Northeast and East side in the company’s delivery vehicle. In his almost thirty years delivering for the pharmacy, Tom estimates he’s logged over 750,000 miles in our community, no easy feat when you consider the number of construction projects that pop up almost daily these days.
When asked if the neighborhood is getting better, Tom responded with a resounding Yes. “With all the people from the different countries coming in, opening up small businesses, it makes it fun, you can go out to eat in all sorts of different places almost every night.”
Tom’s parting shot this week is a sage bit of advice. “People, drive safe and wear your seatbelts.”
