Officer Greg Smith is the Community Interaction Officer for Kansas City Police Department’s East Patrol Division.
Frequently seen in the Northeast at various community events, Officer Smith works to establish relationships and connections with local residents.
Most recently, Officer Smith attended the Neighborhood Connect Day at Harmony Park, passing out stickers and baseball cards to children and talking one-on-one with parents and residents.
Officer Smith said his goal is to make the Northeast a safer place for everyone.
“We work really closely with the Northeast neighborhoods, making the Northeast a safer place to live for the citizens and community, help with the blight, come to neighborhood meetings, and share information from KCPD that we know will be pertinent for the Northeast neighborhoods,” he said. “We also get good information from the Northeast citizens in helping to solve crimes, as well.
When asked what he enjoyed about the Northeast, he motioned to the Connect Day going on around him.
“This,” he said. “I love how the Northeast community interacts with each other, comes together to get things done, how they communicate with the police and partner with the police in helping the Northeast be a better place to live.”
