The Associated Press has announced Barack Obama is the winner in the presidential race. Obama won Ohio, along with swing states Colorado, Iowa, Virginia and Nevada. Obama’s win was declared around 11:18 p.m. ET.

11:23 p.m.

Sixty percent of the Missouri precincts have now reported their results. In the U.S. Senate race, Todd Akin has conceded to Sen. Claire McCaskill, who is leading by 11 percentage points.

Governor Jay Nixon currently has a lead over Dave Spence by 7 percentage points.

In Missouri, Mitt Romney has the lead over President Barack Obama with 58 percent of the vote.

Other races are:
Lieutenant Governor: Peter Kinder, 53 percent;  Susan Montee,  42 percent
Secretary of State: Shane Schoeller 51 percent; Jason Kander 45 percent
State Treasurer: Cole McNary now with 49 percent; Clint Zweifel, 47 percent
Attorney General:  Chris Koster, 54 percent;  Ed Martin, 43 percent

The raising of the state’s cigarette tax by 73 cents a pack is being defeated. Fifty-four percent of Missourians have voted against the tax increase.

In the congressional races, all of the incumbents are in the lead and include: Anne Wagner, Lacy Clay, Blaine Leutkemeyer, Sam Graves, Vicky Hartzler, Emanuel Cleaver, Billy Long and Jo Ann Emerson.

Results from 15 percent of the Missouri precincts are in and currently, Mitt Romney is in the lead with 53 percent of the vote versus Barack Obama’s 45 percent.

U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin has conceded to U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill and Akin is expected to make a statement around 10 p.m. at his campaign rally in Chesterfield.

The proposal to raise the state’s cigarette tax by 73 cents a pack is going down to defeat by about a 54 percent vote.

In the governor’s race, Jay Nixon now leads Dave Spence 51 to 46 percent.

In other races, current standings are:
Lieutenant governor: Peter Kinder up 53 to 42 percent over Susan Montee.
Secretary of State: Speaker of the House Shane Schoeller leads Jason Kander  52 to 44 percent
State Treasurer:  Cole McNary has 50 percent of the vote vs. Clint Zweifel’s 46 percent
Attorney General: Chris Koster has 52 percent while Ed Martin has 44 percent

As for the congressional races, those in the lead include: Incumbents Vicky Hartzler, Emanuel Cleaver, Billy Long and Jo Ann Emerson.
