On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, the world lost Earl Kent Hunter, beloved son of Earl George and Catherine Hunter. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 9, 1941, where he was raised along with his three younger.

He began his career as a civilian engineer for the Navy, where his research was in close collaboration with the Navy SEALs. There he became an expert scuba diver and contributed multiple patents for his inventions.

He had numerous positions and was a consultant for several companies, including the government where he was in charge of the toxic waste facilities in the salt mines in Firth, Idaho.

He moved west, and discovered a love of the mountains, where he spent much of his time scaling the highest peaks in the west, backpacking, hunting, and skiing. He was a licensed pilot who loved to fly both planes and gliders. He was a master marksman and a dedicated member of the NRA.

Kent Hunter lived a full life with many proud accomplishments, but his proudest accomplishment, and his greatest joy, were his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Deanna; his children, Katherine, Valkyrie, Nicole, Earl Kent (Bud), Elisabeth, and Bill; and his 10 grandchildren, a great grandson; his sisters Kathy and Jan; and he is preceded in death by his parents and sister Karen. Dad, you are loved always, and your legacy will live forever in your children and grandchildren.
