On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, officers responded to a shooting incident at the 300 block of Wabash Ave. 

Upon arrival, they found two victims, a male and a female, laying in the front yard of a residence. The male victim reported being outside when a person in a passing vehicle began shooting, resulting in him being struck by gunfire. 

The female victim reported she heard gunshots and went outside, where she was also hit by gunfire. Both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the shooter. KCPD reports that the nearby school was not involved in any capacity.
