KANSAS CITY, Missouri —If you see hazmat suits or hear gunfire around the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, don’t worry, it’s likely just a drill.
This week — starting tomorrow, Feb. 17, through Saturday, Feb. 21 — KCUMB is partnering with the National Disaster Life Support Foundation to hold Advanced Disaster Life Support training sessions and simulations on its campus. The training will include five, real life disaster simulations. During the real world disaster simulations there will be simulated gunfire, explosions and the use of one of KCUMB’s medical training “cut suits.”
