August 20: Third Fridays 5-9 p.m., proXimity returns! This year, multiple venues will feature local artists. Participating venues include: The 815 Gallery (815 E 5th) and Don Bosco Community Center (526 Campbell). Social protocols will be at the discretion of and posted by venue owners.

August 21: State Senator Barbara Ann Washington (D-9) will host a Town Hall meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with guest speaker State Rep. Ingrid Burnett (D-19). There will be food, refreshments, and updates on the state of Missouri and our district. This is an opportunity to talk to our government officials and get to know them at the Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and Independence Avenue CID Community Room at 2657 Independence Ave.

August 21: A Kansas City tribute to Carol Coe at 19th and Vine at noon. City Councilwoman Melissa Robinson will lead the official dedication for the naming of the Carol Coe Bridge of Opportunity. Immediately following, the Marching Cobras will lead attendees to the historic Gem Theater for the “Carol Coe Story Hour” featuring stories and anecdotes about Carol at 2 p.m. Presented in partnership with the Black Archives of Mid-America. August 21: Global FC Back-to-School Bash, a night of multicultural community engagement for the whole family. To celebrate the start of a new school year, live intercultural music, ethic food, international coffee, pick-up soccer games, a gallery and more. Distributing school supplies to Global FC.
