Need a flu shot? The city of Kansas City is here to help.

The city’s health department will host a flu clinic Saturday, Oct. 12., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the health department, 2400 Troost Ave.

For children and adults without health insurance, the flu vaccine will be free. Cost is $20 for individuals with insurance. If you have Medicare or Medicaid, the Health Department can bill on your behalf.

“Getting a flu shot is the single best way to prevent the flu or decrease the length and severity of symptoms,” said Dr. Rex Archer, director of the Health Department. “Those who are vaccinated against the flu are far less likely to spread the flu to their family or friends.”

A free Tdap vaccine, which protect against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis, will also be available for those 11 years old and older.
