Kansas City’s Chouteau Parkway project will soon be ahead of schedule.
Beginning June 25, the City of Kansas City, Mo., construction crews will close Chouteau Trafficway between Parvin and Winn roads. The road will remain closed to all traffic until Sunday, July 1. Detour signs and changeable message boards will be posted prior to the road closure.
The planned closure will allow crews to complete work at Parvin Road and Chouteau Trafficway ahead of schedule, reopening the roadway to normal traffic earlier than originally planned.
Crews started construction on the Chouteau Parkway project in April 2012, which will replace the existing Chouteau Trafficway with a four-lane parkway between Highway 210 and Interstate 35. Work will also include installation of an improved storm drainage system, new lights, trails, sidewalks and other amenities. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2014.
