North-East Public Library, along with Vox Narro, hosts a Celebration of Bhutan Sept. 15. The event included Bhutanese music, dancing, poetry, food and special speakers. Bhutan, which is located in the Eastern Himilayas, is also known as the Land of the Herbs and the Land of the Thunder Dragon. In 2006, Bhutan was rated as the happiest country in Asia and the eighth happiest in the world based on a global survey by BusinessWeek magazine. Twenty-two different languages are spoken in the country and natives must be fluent in a minimum of four to survive. Above, Nepali folk dancers perform. Look for more pictures at
