• Thursday, May 9 • NE Historical Society membership meeting The Northeast Kansas City Historical Society will host its quarterly membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, 517 S. Kensington. There will be a presentation about the history of the church founded in 1891 and tours of the building that was completed in 1905. All are welcome to attend. For more, visit nekchs.com. Game Day for Adults North-East Public Library will host a game day for adults beginning at 10 a.m. at the library. • Friday, May 10 • Story Time and Craft Join North-East Public Library for its weekly story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. This story time group promotes literacy in children with the participation of caring family members. This week’s theme is Mother’s Day. • Saturday, May 11 • Scarritt Renaissance Coffee Flub Scarritt Renaissance Coffee Club will host its monthly gathering from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Please bring a sweet or savory breakfast hors d’oeuvre to share. Eleos Coffee will provide coffee. Special speakers are Darrel Wingo and Frank from the Knotty Rug Company, who will talk about the various aspects of fine carpets. All are invited to attend.
