Spike Nguyen, owner of iPho Tower restaurant, invites artists of all experience levels to be a part of a “paint in” over the Memorial Day weekend at his Northeast location at Independence Boulevard and Paseo.
“We want the community to be a part of designing our newly remodeled inside space,” said Nguyen.
Each artist will take one of the six “shutter scenes” located along the top wall inside of the restaurant, and create a whimsical street scene that resembles Bourbon Street in the New Orleans French Quarter. Paint and brushes along with scaffolding will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Painting dates are Saturday May 28, Sunday May 29 and Memorial Day, May 30th. Complimentary food will also be provided as well.
The project is being supported by the Northeast Chamber of Commerce, the Independence Avenue CID and Northeast Arts KC. To sign up or to get more information contact, Jody Flaherty at jody.flaherty@gmail.com or by phone at 913-579-5461.
