The Second Annual Bottoms Up Arts and Music Festival is scheduled for Friday, June 4 & Saturday, June 5, 2021.
The event highlights the work of local artists from a variety of mediums in neighborhoods in the Historic Northeast of Kansas City by attracting local, regional and national visitors to explore and purchase art from a wide variety of local artists, engage in hands-on art activities, get information from local arts organizations, and enjoy performances from local musicians and actors.
It is presented through a collaboration between The Arts Asylum, The Black Box KC, Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce/EGG Gallery/Independence Avenue Community Improvement District, Northeast Arts KC’s Chalk Your Walk, Paseo West Neighborhood Association, the Historic West Bottoms Association’s Sixth Annual West Bottoms Heritage Days, and Pendleton ArtsBlock.
The two-day event will kick off Friday evening with a live concert with the popular Kansas City performers Zava and Felix at The Black Box KC in the West Bottoms (1060 Union Ave). Food trucks, beverages and more will be on site.
Saturday provides art opportunities at three sites in the Historic Northeast from 10 – 3 and a live performance on the grounds of the Kansas City Museum from 6 – 8.
The sites and activities for the day are as follows: Artist and creative booths at the EGG Gallery (2659 Independence Ave); Chalk Your Walk with Northeast Arts KC, a Facebook event; and a chance to mingle, create and purchase art at Art Garden KC/FMK Social Gallery/PH Coffee (2233 Lexington).
