KC Museum Hard Hat Tour
Take a hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the 100+ year old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family. Visitors will see Corinthian Hall in mid-renovation, the bare interior of the building exposed for the first time in decades. Visitors will also tour the exhibit inside Corinthian Hall: Planning for the Future: Find History at Kansas City Museum. Admission is free and this week’s tours will be held Wednesday through Friday at 2 p.m. at the museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd.
Canvas Art Exhibit
Join the Kansas City Museum for “Kansas City Canvas: Thomas Hart Benton and Beyond.” Explore the artisan world of Thomas Hart Benton and Kansas City artists through the collection of the Kansas City Museum. As part of the 125th anniversary of Thomas Hart Benton’s birth, the Museum will be showcasing the historical life and work of this amazing artist. The Museum will be displaying such lithograph prints as Forward Pass, Benton Home and more from our collection. The Museum, through the lens of history, will also be exploring works of art from several other KC artists including works from George Caleb Bingham, James Fitzgibbon, Daniel MacMorris and the WPA art of H.L. Pierre. Each piece will be accompanied by an essay from museum staff, area historians and artists offering insights about the history, culture and art of their chosen piece. Tours begin every hour, on the hour at 10 a.m. with the last tour at 3 p.m.

Club A Cultural Celebration of India
Join University of Kansas instructor and choreographer Anjali Tata-Hudson and members of the Asian-Indian community for an afternoon of Indian poetry, live and recorded music, dance, visual art, and personal narratives beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the North-East Library, 6000 Wilson Road. Following the presentations, sample a variety of Indian cuisine.
The program and post-event reception are presented by the Vox Narro project, which pairs writers and immigrant groups in presenting the cultural traditions and stories of immigrant communities. Vox Narro is supported by the Rocket Grants program, which is funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and administered by the Charlotte Street Foundation and the Spencer Museum of Art in support of innovative, public-oriented work in nontraditional spaces.
Scarritt Coffee Club Monthly Gathering
Scarritt Renaissance Coffee Club will host its monthly gathering from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Stalder’s House, 4419 Sunrise Drive, with special music guest John Greiner and Betse Ellis.
Second Saturday Work Day
From 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., the Cherith Brook Catholic Worker will host its Second Saturday Work Day. Volunteer to work in the garden, sorting clothes, cooking breakfast, deep cleaning and doing maintenance projects. KCUMB Wounded Warrior Fundraiser
MedCorps will hold a relay race event on Cliff Drive as a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project. In addition to teams competing in a variety of endurance challenges, a GI Jane/GI Joe costume contest may be an added feature. The event takes place from 1 – 4 p.m.

Earth Walk
A 3-mile walk along the Missouri River hosted by Bridging the Gap. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk commences at 9 a.m. The walk will begin at the River Market and travel east along the Berkley Riverfront Park. This event is free to the public.
Earth Walk Easter Egg Hunt
Celebrate this annual Spring event with face painting, egg decorating, music and games from noon – 3 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Garrison Community Center, 1124 E. 5th St. Activities will be held in front of the Center and the Easter Egg Hunt will begin at the sound of the horn.
