KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Before you head to the casino this weekend, why not try your luck at finishing a 5K?

7th Street Casino is holding its fifth annual Stride for Life 5k, beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Pierson Park, 1800 S. 55th St., Kansas City, Kan., in support of Due West Therapeutic Riding Center.

Participant and sponsor registration begins at 7 a.m. at shelter one, next to the parking lot. Additional parking will be provided in the Turner Elementary School parking lot. Professional timers will be provided through Race Day Timing Solutions. Participants will receive a 7th Street Stride for Life t-shirt, a 7th Street Casino logo cup and refreshments. Category winners will also receive medals and other awards.

Each year 7th Street Casino hosts a 5K run/walk in support of a local charity. In the past, 7th Street Casino has supported women’s heart health, Kansas University Oncology and the Kansas Special Olympics.

Due West Therapeutic Riding Center provides therapeutic riding services to children and adults with disabilities and other therapeutic needs. The program is designed to serve children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities; including autism spectrum disorder, Down Syndrome, developmental delay, emotional disorders and vision and hearing impairments. Due West TRC serves individuals in Wyandotte, Leavenworth, Johnson and Douglas counties. All proceeds will be donated.
