During the May 26 Gladstone Elementary Heroes Program, local artist Bobby Watson performed an original song composed for Gates Bar-B-Q. During the program, local hero Ollie Gates of Gates Bar-B-Q was honored. Gladstone’s first graders have been studying the life of Gates all school year and met with him several times. One of the purposes of the heroes program is to study local ordinary people who have done extraordinary things.
