Members of the VFW Post 9997 celebrated Memorial Day by hosting a BBQ for the public to raise funds for the Post. For the price of a breakfast, diners got a freshly grilled burger and some of the best baked beans on the planet – all prepared by volunteers from the post. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Joplin, Mo., VFW post to aid in reconstruction efforts after last week’s devastating tornado.
