Wednesday morning, Sept. 24, KCFD responded to a reported vehicle into a building at the 4600 block of Independence Ave at 3:14 am. On arrival, crews found that a pickup truck had struck the business, leaving a large hole that was boarded up to secure the building. Following this collision, the occupants of the truck fled the scene. KCFD Media Unit stated no injuries were reported.

Damage to the building is being assessed and both the dental office of J. Edward Kendrick D.D.S. at 4605 and KC Care Health Center at 4601 are closed until further notice.
