Two suspects are now in custody in connection to the double homicide at Gladstone Boulevard and Cliff Drive. Charges are expected to be filed later this afternoon.

On April 11 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Kansas City Fire Department responded to a car fire near Gladstone Boulevard and Cliff Drive. While distinguishing the fire, fire fighters discovered two bodies inside, burned beyond recognition.

The victims are a male and female.

Kansas City Police Department’s East Patrol Sgt. Stacey Graves said the Murder Squad of Kansas City Missouri has an idea of who the male victim is, but is waiting for a positive identification. East Patrol is not releasing details about the male victim.

The female victim has not been identified, but in a press release, police said she is of Hispanic descent, 5’5 to 5’7 and weighs 150 to 180 pounds. She has black hair below the shoulders, pierced ears and a pierced bottom lip. She was wearing bracelets, a necklace and artificial fingernails. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the TIPS Hotline, (816) 474-8477.

Asked if a cause of death has been determined, Graves said, “No.”

Asked if the suspects in custody are male or female, Graves said she could not release that information. However, she said, more details will be available once charges are filed.
