The future of print

The future of print – Some serious considerations from Northeast’s foremost and only newshound, dedicated to sniffin’ out news in Northeast

This last weekend this news-pooch and our team here at the House of News were fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of six awards for excellence in journalism at the annual Missouri Press Association Convention in Columbia, Mo.

There’s been quite a bit of ballyhoo about the ongoing role of newspapers in today’s digital marketplace, much of it focused on the ultimate demise of what some refer to as “dead tree media.”  Them’s fightin’ words to this old journalist dog, especially given newspapers do what the blogosphere can’t – deliver accurate information in a timely, concise and objective manner, “objective” being the operative verb.

To that end, you’ve no doubt seen some visual changes in our print product with the addition of new Art Director Bryan Jordan. We’ll be making even more changes in the coming weeks to continue to bring you more community news that’s relevant to our Historic Northeast neighborhoods. We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming.
