Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders will hold a press conference Thursday, April 28, to name an interim Jackson County prosecutor. The press conference will be held at 11 a.m. at the Jackson County Courthouse, 415 E. 12th St., Kansas City, Mo.
The interim prosecutor will temporarily replace James F. Kanatzar, who has been appointed by Gov. Jay Nixon to serve on the 16th Judicial Circuit bench. Kanatzar will be sworn in April 28.
Earlier this month, Sanders named an advisory committee to recommend three finalists to fulfill the remainder of Kanatzar’s term as Jackson County prosecutor. The advisory committee is in the process of conducting interviews and is expected to forward three applicants to Sanders by Friday.
