Northeast Chamber President Bobbi Baker-Hughes cut the ribbon to the new Fresh Market at 2620 Independence Blvd. Sunday afternoon

The ribbon was cut at The Avenues newest grocery store, the new Fresh Market El Mercado Fresco at 2620 Independence Boulevard. The store is the second Mercado Fresco on the Avenue, and is located in the old Snyders Supermarket space near Independence and Chestnut.

Bobbi Baker Hughes, Northeast Chamber of Commerce President was said the new investment on the Avenue is yet another positive step for the community.

“We’re thrilled to have the commitment to community the Fresh Market family brings to our community.”

JR, store owner Eddie Musallet’s cousin echoed Baker-Hughes. “We’re very happy to be here and be an active part of the neighborhood.”

The new store is open 7 days a week and features fresh meat, produce and a meat case that measures over 50 feet in length that’s stocked full of fresh seafood, chicken, beef, pork and more.
