Repairs to Benton Circle sinkhole progressing

Repair continues on Benton Sinkhole. Erosion issues called for emergency repairs on the sinkhole on the north portion of the Benton circle, near the Colonnade. The original project was not scheduled until June. According to Mike Wiseman, a Construction Superintendent with the company contracted to do the work, Leath & Sons Contracting in Raytown, MO., the erosion has completely undermined the sidewalk and was starting to impede on the roadway. James Wang, Project Manager, says steps are being taken to get this resolved. Wang advised the Northeast News that the repair on the scour/erosion hole should be completed in approximately three weeks.
