BREAKING — Just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24 Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) Central and East Parol Division (EPD) officers responded to Advance Auto Parts, 2661 Independence Ave., on what appeared to be the conclusion of a vehicle pursuit.

Over six KCPD vehicles along with a helicopter unit blocked all entrances to the Advance Auto Parts parking lot Tuesday afternoon in search of three suspects involved with a stolen vehicle. The Northeast News was on the scene Tuesday as KCPD arrested three suspects — two male and one female — as well as searched the stolen gray car.

In a conversation with Advance Auto Parts Driver Wayne, he shared that there were three individuals who were involved in this incident. The female, Wayne said, was attempting to purchase a radiator from Advance Auto Parts, while one male suspect ran around the back of the building and the other locked himself in a back room inside the store.

Wayne shared that nothing was taken from Advance Auto Parts and no employees were harmed in this incident.

The suspects are currently in KCPD custody; KCPD officers are still currently on the scene.

The Northeast News will provide additional information once it becomes available.
