Kansas City’s spring sports season is already delivering energy across the metro, with strong starts, playoff pushes, and plenty to look forward to in the weeks ahead.

The Kansas City Current opened their 2026 campaign this weekend with a 2–1 win at CPKC Stadium, giving fans an exciting start to the season. The Current showed resilience with a second-half surge, continuing their trend of strong performances at home and setting the tone for what supporters hope will be another championship-contending year.

Indoor soccer fans are also turning their attention to the Kansas City Comets, who have officially entered the MASL playoffs. After a competitive regular season, the Comets are once again in the hunt for a title, bringing playoff intensity to Kansas City as they look to make a deep postseason run.

On the ice, the Kansas City Mavericks continue to build momentum heading into the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Mavericks have been among the top teams in the ECHL this season, combining consistent scoring with strong defensive play. Their early playoff berth reflects a team that has found its rhythm at the right time.

Looking ahead, baseball season is just around the corner as the Kansas City Monarchs prepare to return to the field. The Monarchs will open their 2026 season in mid-May at Legends Field, and anticipation is already building for another summer of community-centered baseball in Kansas City.
