On Tuesday, June 16, about 6:30 pm, Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) officers were dispatched to Truman Road at Bennington Ave.on an injury accident call. 

On arrival, officers located a vehicle crashed into a pole there with significant damage. Officers and EMS located an adult male inside the vehicle with life threatening injuries. EMS transported him to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. During the course of administering medical treatment at the hospital, medical personnel located what appeared to be gunshot injury to the male. 

Ultimately, medical personnel at the hospital declared the victim deceased from his injuries. 

On Friday, June 19, the victim was identified as Jeremy T. Keenan W/M 11/24/1982. 

Officers notified Homicide detectives who have now begun a homicide investigation. Detectives were at the scene near the crash canvassing for witnesses and Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene for evidence.

This incident is believed to be related to additional reported shootings on June 16.

Between 6pm and 6:30 pm,  officers were notified of a total of four reported shooting victims. Officers contacted victims at I-670 and Wyoming Ave.(vehicle was traveling eastbound from Kansas), I-70 and The Paseo (vehicle was traveling EB), I-70 and Prospect Ave., (vehicle was traveling EB), and Truman Rd. and Hardesty Ave. (vehicle was traveling EB).

Victims all indicated they were driving down the highway or roadway when one or more shots were fired into their vehicles. 

A total of four victims were contacted and transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Three are adults and one is a juvenile teen. The juvenile teen is listed in stable condition, two of the three adults have non-life threatening injuries, and one adult has life threatening injuries.

A suspect in this case was identified on Wednesday, June 17 as 22-year-old Oscar Sanchez-Munoz (09-17-2003). He has a warrant out of Wyandotte County Kansas for Aggravated Assault with a 100K bond. 

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Oscar Sanchez-Munoz.
