Urban Street Ambassador

PAY GRADE: $11/hour to start with performance review after 90 days

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Urban Street Ambassador enhances and maintains the shared value of the community through building relationships and beautification within the Independence Avenue Community Improvement District.

DAILY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Community Interaction – Represent the CID through positive interactions with business owners, property owners, residents, visitors and other persons.
• Beautification: Trash pick-up, sorting recyclables  along the Independence Avenue CID boundaries.
• Graffiti Removal – Locating and reporting illegal graffiti tag locations; painting or removing graffiti from walls, fences and other structures located within the Community Improvement District.
• Landscape Services – Maintain desired vegetation in right-of-way, selected private lots, flower beds and flower pots along Independence Boulevard/Avenue.
• Snow Removal – Remove snow, ice from sidewalks, bus stops, store entrances, driveways, ADA ramps located within the Community Improvement District.
• Communication and reporting of safety issues and concerns with CID Leadership and Security team members for future follow up.
• Promote a positive work environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
•  Perform other duties, tasks and projects as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Urban Street Ambassadors work in all weather conditions. Exposure to harsh conditions is possible and expected. The CID will provide appropriate weather gear.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The job requires physical labor requiring extended periods of time standing, walking and bending.
Must be able to lift 60 pounds or more.
