*TW: Violence*

BREAKING — Just after 3:15 a.m., on Thursday, July 24, Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) officers responded to the 1300 block of Admiral Blvd within the Paseo West neighborhood on a reported cutting call.

Once on the scene, officers located an unresponsive, adult male victim with multiple stab wounds lying in an apartment complex parking lot. KCPD requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the scene, who pronounced the victim deceased upon scene arrival, according to a release from KCPD Media Unit, Thursday. KCPD identified the victim as Tyrone A. Bates (54).

After conducting a preliminary investigation, it is believed this incident occurred as a result of an argument. However, additional information is unknown at this time. KCPD has not identified a person of interest and has not taken anyone into custody at this time.

Homicide detectives and investigators have responded to begin collecting evidence and witness statements. This incident is currently under homicide investigation and it remains ongoing, according to a release from KCPD Media Unit, Thursday.
