Fear not denizens of Guinotte Avenue in the city’s East Bottoms community, today’s partial  closure of Guinotte between Shelly Ave and I-35 by Spire Energy will be short lived according to company officials.

The closure of eastbound Guinotte is to perform pipeline maintenance work required by federal law. “This is a two day closure to do scheduled pipeline maintenance work that prevents pipes from leaking,” said Emily Rose, Spire Spokesperson.

Guinotte will re-open this afternoon for weekend traffic then close on
Monday for the completion of the project Rose said.
