Faces Of Northeast: Nikki Lansford

This week’s Face of Northeast is Nikki Lansford, Editorial Assistant with the Northeast News. Nikki will be learning the ins and outs of Community Journalism through the spring semester with us. She is a recent graduate from the University of Missouri’s journalism program, with a focus on print and digital. Nikki is a member of Alpha Chi Omega.

Though she lives on the Kansas side, she grew up visiting family in Northeast Kansas City.

“I’m glad to be able to explore the city more, and that’s why I think this internship is a good fit, as well,” Nikki said of her move back to her hometown.

In her free time, Nikki likes to read fiction and write. She’s excited for the Kansas City Museum to reopen, and on her third day as our intern, was there when they installed the first piece of artwork following renovations.

“It was nice to get a look into something that most people won’t get to see for a while, kind of that perk of being able to give a sneak peak into it,” Nikki said.

If you see Nikki out and about, give her a wave!
