BREAKING — Just after 5 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) officers responded to the 100 block of N. Bellaire Ave., within the Indian Mound neighborhood on a reported shooting call.

Once on the scene, officers located an adult male suffering multiple gunshot wounds at the back side of a nearby residence. Officers ordered Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the scene and began performing life saving measures, according to a release from KCPD Media Unit, Saturday. EMS pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that this incident occurred from an escalated argument, which resulted in gunfire.

Homicide detectives and investigators are currently gathering evidence from the scene and collecting statements from witnesses. KCPD does not have a suspect in custody at this time. However, KCPD Media Unit shared that they are making headway in identifying a person of interest.

On Wednesday, July 23, the KCPD Media unit identified the victim as Jorge Grageda H/M, 4/30/1974.

There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.
