BREAKING — Just after 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) crews dispatched to the 3100 block of Thompson Ave., on a reported apartment fire.
Once on the scene, firefighters discovered a three-story apartment structure, which is believed to be vacant, erupting in flames and smoke, according to a release from KCFD Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins, Tuesday evening.
Crews began initiating interior operations and performed a structure search, which came back all clear.
This incident is currently under KCFD investigation. No injuries were reported at this time and a Dangerous Buildings request was filed for this structure.
