Wednesday, July 1 & Thursday, July 2- Whatsoever Student Enterprises Fundraiser, 4 to 6 p.m., 1201 Ewing Ave. Whatsoever Community Center’s summer campers have been creating bracelets, ceramics, candles and homebaked chocolate chip cookies to provide funds for activities. Come shop & support these hard-working Northeast youngsters.

Friday, July 3- City Hall and other city offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day. Trash collection will NOT be affected or delayed.

Saturday, July 4- America’s 250th Independence Day! Please celebrate responsibly and note certain businesses usually open on Saturday may be closed.

Saturday, July 4- Pendleton Heights 250th Neighborhood Picnic & Celebration, 1 to 4 p.m. PH Coffee, 2200 Lexington Ave. Neighborly fun with food, music, singing and more. Free hot dogs and snow cones courtesy of PH Coffee, bring chairs, blankets and snacks to share.

Sunday, July 5- 7th Annual 5th of July Cleanup, 8:30 a.m. to ?, The Concourse. Missouri State Representative Wick Thomas spearheads this annual event to collect firework debris in Northeast parks. Meet at The Concourse for gloves, bags, and trash pickers. Additional parks will include Budd Park, Lykins Park and Sheffield Park.

Thursday, July 9- Coffee, Culture and Conversation, 10 to 11 a.m., Core Coffee, 546 Olive St. Stop by this neighborhood owner-operated coffee shop and try a complimentary cup of their house blend. Join in with neighbors to discuss topics of local interest and enjoy a sweet treat too. Free, all are welcome.

Saturday, July 11-  Slime Time, 1 to 2:30 p.m., North-East Branch Library, 6000 Wilson Ave. come and measure, pour and create your own unique slime.This activity is suitable for ages 5 to 12.  All materials provided, free.
