Thursday, May 14- Coffee, Conversation and Culture, 10 to 11 a.m., Northeast Chamber of Commerce (2657 Independence Blvd.) This monthly event invites community members, business owners and anyone interested in Historic Northeast to drop in for a cup of coffee, a sweet treat and conversation. Free.

Thursday, May 14- Municipal Detention Center Information Session, 5:30 to 8 p.m. ( 2 sessions), 2657 Independence Blvd. The Kansas City Department of Community Safety will present two sessions for residents to learn about the City detention facility under construction, its operating plans, and more. Each session will present the same information and provide time for questions and answers. Session 1 will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 and Session 2 will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. Spanish translation will be available.

Saturday, May 16- Noche de Juegos (Game Night), 1 to 3 p.m., North-East Branch Library, 6000 Wilson Rd. Afternoon fun for adults, come make new friends playing favorite board and card games, free.

Monday, May 18- KC Streetcar Riverfront Extension Grand Opening, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.,110 Berkley Plaza. Ribbon-cutting ceremony ay 11 a.m., followed by a public celebration from 12 to 2 p.m., featuring entertainment, yard games and food trucks. Attendees can ride the extension following the ribbon-cutting when complete north-south service will begin.

Friday, May 22- PH Orchard Bee Installation, 5 to 7 p.m., 2617 Lexington Ave. Come visit and learn about the pollinators that live and work in the PH Orchard. Bee KC will be adding new bees to the colony and PH Coffee will be offering free hot dogs and snow cones.

Saturday, May 23- Kansas City Parks & Recreation Pool Opening Day. All pools and spraygrounds will open for summer exercise and fun. Locally, Budd Park Pool will be open daily from noon to 7 p.m.. For information about day or yearly passes, visit kcparks.org
