Saturday, Sept. 20- Community Paint Day, 1 to 5 p.m., Mantis Alley (2200 Lexington Ave.) The community is invited to stop by and grab a paint brush as work begins on this year’s alley mural project. All ages and skill sets are welcome, assistance will be provided by illustration students from the Kansas City Art Institute. In addition to beautifying the neighborhood, participants have a chance to win prizes from area businesses.

Tuesday, Sept. 23- Loteria Night, 5:30 p.m., North-East Branch Library, 6000 Wilson Ave. Come and play this traditional Mexican matching game, make new friends and win prizes. For all ages; free.

Friday, Sept. 26- Meet Your Neighbor Night at PH Coffee, 6 to 10 p.m., 2200 Lexington Ave. Join your friends and make new friends while discussing topics and enjoying food and drink specials. All Northeast neighbors are welcome.

Sunday, Sept. 27- Lykins Taco Day Community Event, 5 to 7 p.m., Lykins Square Park, 3900 E. Eighth St. Come join your Lykins neighbors for an evening of food, fun and resource information. Sponsored by the Lykins Neighborhood Association. 

Saturday, Oct. 4- Neighborhood Clean Up, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Various dumpster locations throughout the neighborhood including tire disposal. Make plans now to clean your basement, garage or alley way. Look for specific dumpster location in future issues of The Northeast News.
