Community members from all Northeast neighborhoods are invited to this forum to discuss issues and solutions in the community. Panel guests include representatives from the Kansas City Fire Dept., Kansas City Police Dept, Kansas City City Council and Mattie Rhodes Center’s ParateXPaz program.

Saturday, Aug. 30- 19th Annual Family Day in the Park Against Violence, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Ashland Square Park, 2300 Elmwood Ave. Family activities, including games, horse riding and water fun on the sprayground. Wednesday, September 3- Community Altar, 3:30 p.m., North-East Branch Library, 6000 Wilson Ave. Make decorations to create an ofrenda (altar) including marigolds, photo frames and sugar skulls. For ages 5 to 18; free.

Friday, September 5- International Taste & Tour, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Get your ticket to drink and dine at seven Northeast restaurants in the International Marketplace.
