1983 – 2025

With hearts full of sorrow yet gratitude for her life, Braisen’s family shares the unexpected passing of Braisen Cain, 42, of Kansas City, Missouri, on August 6, 2025.

Born at Kansas University Hospital to Alena and Robert Cain, Braisen lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and service. She graduated from Palm Bay High School in Florida, studied childhood development in Springfield, Missouri, and attended Bryan University, where she completed a Medical Assistant program and earned an Associate’s Degree in Occupational Studies in 2008.

Braisen dedicated many years teaching at the Academy for Integrated Arts (AFAI), creating a warm, safe space that inspired confidence and creativity in her students, while building lasting bonds with colleagues. She also worked with Scrape the Plate Catering and was considered part of the family. She left a touch of joy at every catered event.

She is survived by her mother, Lena; brothers, Seth and Cory; sister, Nicole; and her sons, Christopher Jr. (19), Aatyis (17), Kingston (16), Zailon (13), and Avenger (2). She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Cain.

Her family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from family, friends, colleagues, businesses, and community members, whose compassion and generosity have brought comfort during this unimaginable loss.
