BREAKING — Just after 12:49 p.m., on Sunday, June 8, the Kansas City Police Department’s (KCPD) East Patrol Division officers responded to the intersection of St. John and North Topping Avenues on a reported injury-accident call.

Once on the scene, officers concluded a bicyclist, who was traveling southbound on a one-way street on North Topping Avenue, collided with the side of an eastbound tractor trailer, according to a release from KCPD Media Unit, Sunday.

The bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. KCPD shared in a release Sunday that this incident marks Kansas City’s 29th traffic-related fatality of the year compared to 46 at this time in 2024.

Additional information, including the victim from this incident, remains unknown at this time.
