A legitimate victory…or not

Northeast News
November 30, 2016

Well, if you thought the hot mess that was the presidential election that took place on November 8th was over, you’ve got another thing comin’. Apparently a couple of the losing candidates have teamed up to cause more angst and consternation for the American public and the proclaimed winner of said contest, one Donald J. Trump. Like him or hate him, he’s the one that garnered the electoral votes needed to win the election.
Now it appears that the Democrat loser doesn’t want to accept reality, much less the outcome of the election, despite her tweeted assertion that not accepting the results of the election was a direct assault on democracy. The fact of the matter is that Mrs. Clinton has a history of not wanting to accept the outcome and legitimacy of elections. Back in 2002 when Mrs. Clinton attended a private fundraiser in California for then Missouri Senator Jean Carnahan, she openly questioned the results of the 2000 election of then sitting President George Bush by stating for the record that Bush was “selected, not elected.” Then again in 2009, while at a town hall in Abuja, Africa, she again bashed the electoral system in the United States: saying in so many words that American elections have been problematic in recent years, blaming then Florida Governor Jeb Bush for Bush 43’s victory after the hanging chad issues that plagued a number of counties in South Florida.
At the risk of ending up being added to the Clinton body count, here’s a snippet of reality for the losing candidates. We’re done. You and your competition put the American public through 18 months of trash talk, subterfuge, lies, distortion and scandal. We’re done. Enough is enough. The election is over, you lost. Hooking up with another losing candidate who garnered a paltry 1% of the popular vote and zero electoral votes in order to hijack the electoral process isn’t the way to the presidency. The dog would remind you that presidents should be elected, not selected.
