Victims identified in Northeast shooting

Kansas City Police Department has identified the two victims in Sunday’s alleged murder/suicide.

Police responded to a residence in the 400 block of S. Oakley about 8:15 Sunday evening on a shooting call. When they arrived, they located an adult male and an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were declared dead at the scene.

The victims have been identified as Haylee Atagi-Barker, 22, and her husband Christian Barker, 21.

Detectives processed the scene overnight to determine the events that led up to the shooting and are investigating the incident as a possible murder/suicide.

Detectives do believe that all of the people involved in this incident are at the scene and they are not seeking any additional suspects.
