KANSAS CITY, Missouri – A local man, killed on Monday, March 6 after gunfire erupted near the intersection of St. John and Drury, was identified by KCPD on Friday, March 17 as 24-year-old Lonnie Montgomery.

The double shooting occurred just after 1:00 p.m., leaving two individuals with gunshot wounds. Montgomery died shortly after being transported to a nearby hospital. The second individual was also brought to the hospital, where he was being treated with non-life threatening injuries. KCPD officials indicated at the time that the second individual was cooperating with police as they attempted to locate a suspect.

Sgt. Kari Thompson of the KCPD Media Relations Unit confirmed on March 17 that the investigation is still ongoing.
