Victim identified in Front Street Hit and Run case

Northeast News

The victim in Tuesday’s hit and run accident near the Isle of Capri casino has been identified as 78 year-old Emma Hayes of Kansas City, Missouri.
Accident investigators on the scene traced a person of interest in this case back to a house in the 700 block of N. Kansas Avenue in the city’s East Bottoms area. Officers attempted to contact the individual but he barricaded himself in the residence and a four-plus hour standoff ensued. He was later taken in to custody without incident. The Northeast News has learned that person has since been released on bond.

There have been no charges filed in the incident and it remains under active investigation.
