Kansas City Solid Waste division, in coordination with contract partner WCA Waste Corporation (WCA), is having a special No-tag Week April 13-17 to help residents during Kansas City’s Stay-At-Home order and the cancellation of many previously-scheduled neighborhood clean-up events.

Trash amnesty

Trash amnesty for Kansas City residents is April 13-17. Residents will be allowed to dispose of up to 12 bags of TRASH ONLY in plastic bags.

Trash bags cannot include leaf or brush, bulky items, or hazardous waste.

Bags cannot weigh more than 40 pounds.

If a bag is too heavy or has prohibited items inside, it will not be picked up and a violation sticker will be placed on the bag.

Loose bulky items (furniture, etc.) will not be picked up, unless you have already scheduled a bulky item pickup, in which case that will still be in effect.

Nothing (including cars) should block these items from crews or trucks, so please be mindful when parking or setting out trash.

Leaf and Brush collection

April 13-17 is also leaf and brush collection week for the city’s central zone (East to West: Blue Ridge Cutoff to State Line; North to South: Missouri River to 63rd Street).

Residents will be able to dispose of up to 20 paper bags of leaf and brush for curbside collection.

This is only for central zone during this week.
