Teresa Martinez, 88, of Kansas City, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at North Kansas City Hospital. Burial was at Mt. Washington Cemetery.

Teresa was born on May 19, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo., and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jesus Montez; three brothers, Tony, Lupe and Santos Montez; and three sisters, Delores Hiatt, Juanita Gutherie and Vincenta Hernandez. Teresa is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joe Martinez; two sons, Glenn (Adria) Martinez and Joe J. (Vickie) Martinez; one sister, Rose Gutierrez; seven grandsons; 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, (816) 353-6555.
