Suicide victim identified

The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department has confirmed that a Historic Northeast suicide victim has been identified as 19-year-old Jackie Avila.

KCPD officers doing a car check in the 4400 block of Gladstone Boulevard at around 8 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, May 9 were contacted by a neighbor in regards to an unresponsive female laying face down in the front yard. That female has now been positively identified as Avila.

Fire and EMS was dispatched to the scene and it was determined the victim was deceased. By late afternoon, KCPD had declared the incident a suicide.
