Authorities discovered an apparent drug lab in the Historic Northeast on Tuesday, June 19.

Police were called to the 400 block of S. Gladstone Boulevard yesterday at approximately 11a.m. Upon arrival, officers on scene observed items used during the manufacture of drugs. A search warrant was executed at the address by KCPD officers and items were recovered from the scene. The suspect allegedly fled the scene on foot toward Concourse Park. Officers believe the suspect was actively “cooking” when the lab blew up.

There is currently nobody in custody and the investigation is ongoing. The Northeast News will provide further details as they become available.
