RideKC offering free rides New Year’s Eve to keep travelers safe

RideKC is offering free bus rides and streetcar rides New Year’s Eve around the KC metro area.

Free rides will be available Monday, Dec. 31 from 4 p.m. until the end of service after midnight. Rides in Kansas City, Johnson County, KCK, and Independence will be free.

Regular weekday schedules will remain in effect today, December 31, but holiday hours will begin tomorrow, January 1.

On the evening of Monday, Dec. 31, all RideKC buses and the streetcar will be free to help holiday travelers get to and from their destinations safely.

Riders can plan a trip at www.ridekc.org, using the trip planner on the home page.

Customers can get help planning a trip by calling the Regional Call Center at 816-221-0660, weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hours:

Monday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve): 7:00am-2:00am (Free rides after 4 p.m.)

Tuesday, January 1 (New Year’s Day): 7:00am-10:00pm
