Once again, Eleos Coffee House at Independence and Indiana is providing holiday meals for the areas less fortunate families.
Roughly 110 families signed up to get a free Thanksgiving meal Saturday morning, with all of the trimmings, courtesy of the Eleos ministry.

Volunteers from a number of churches, including Mission Road Baptist Church, Life Connection Church and Kansas City Bikers for Christ assisted families with their meals.
Dinners included a turkey, stuffing, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce and dessert. Families could also pick up cold weather gear such as blankets, socks, coats and gloves.

According to Eleos Coffee spokesman Dan Smith the event is the highlight of the year for his employees and family.

“This is the seventh year for our Outreach and it’s my favorite event for us every, there’s really a cool sense of community and a lot of people coming together.”
