Dorri Partain, left, and Rebecca Koop meet outside of the POTS pottery shop on St. John to paint 29 window boards. The boards will later be painted as individual playing cards and will be installed on an abandoned building at 7th and Indiana. Leslie CollinsDorri Partain and Rebecca Koop took advantage of cool temperatures May 8 to paint 29 window boards.

The two painted the window boards white, which local artists will later outline as individual playing cards.

Later this month, the window boards will be installed on an abandoned building at 7th and Indiana. The theme will be a “House of Cards.”

Both novice and experienced painters are being asked to finish painting the window boards from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 19-20. Artists will only need to paint the already traced out playing cards. Northeast Arts KC will provide the paint, paintbrushes and food. Additional help is also needed to clean around the building by picking up trash and mowing the yard. Meet at 7th and Indiana.
