Police on Friday morning responded to an address in the 3600 block of Windsor Avenue after an armed party began discharging a weapon in the front yard.

Upon arrival, officers located at least three suspects and took them into custody. A black male, a black female and an elderly white male. Tactical officers were called to the scene to clear the residence, though an all-clear was issued shortly thereafter. The primary, a black male approximately 45 years of age, repeatedly stated while in handcuffs waiting for the Wagon that he was merely “testing out his new gun, getting ready for deer season.”

Prior to being loaded into the wagon, the same man added,” you never know what will happen out in the wilderness.”

All three subjects were transported to headquarters for questioning. In a follow-up conversation, East Patrol Major Jim Thomas confirmed that the party was intoxicated and firing a shotgun into the air.
